Care-Factor

2024

Christmas In July

We are thrilled to wrap up the Care-Factor 2024 Charity Ball with immense gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the event.

Together, we raised over $100,000, an incredible achievement that would not have been possible without your generosity and support. Your presence and participation made the evening truly special, and the funds raised will make a significant impact.

Thank you for being a part of this wonderful night, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Transform research, care and quality of life for children with dementia so they may live long and fulfilling lives.

Every 11 minutes childhood dementia takes a life, yet most people don’t know it exists.

This week two babies will be born in Australia with a condition that will lead to childhood dementia. They will suffer with symptoms for months, years or even decades, and 50% of these children will not live to see their 10th birthday. There are no treatments, and families are left to manage the burden of their child’s care without appropriate support.

Childhood Dementia Initiative (CDI) believes in a better future for all children with dementia, and is driving world first action to change how they are recognised, treated and cared for now, and for generations to come.

By raising awareness, building evidence and collaborating with critical stakeholders like healthcare services, researchers and policy makers, CDI is rapidly addressing how systems responsible for care and therapeutic development are invested in and adapted to better support children with dementia.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to live a long and fulfilling life.

Encouraging people to take a stand against bullying, support those affected, and to speak even if their voice shakes.

Dolly's Dream was created by Kate and Tick Everett following the shattering loss of their 14-year-old daughter, Dolly, after ongoing bullying.

Kate and Tick’s aim is to prevent other families having to walk this road and experiencing this devastation.

Dolly’s Dream is committed to changing the culture of bullying by increasing understanding of the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide – and by providing support to parents.

Over the past six years, Dolly's Dream has grown bigger than Kate and Tick Everett could have ever imagined.

Dolly's Dream supports schools by offering workshops and kindness activities. The organisation communicates directly with parents through newsletters, advice columns, and the Parent Hub portal. Dolly's Dream also provides online resources to families, facilitating important conversations and assisting young people through workshops, digital products, and advocacy efforts.

Dolly's Dream conducts anti-bullying and cyber safety workshops for schools, community groups, and parents. There is a high demand for these workshops as teachers seek ways to support their students in dealing with bullying issues. In the past year, there has been a 200% increase in inquiries for Dolly's Dream workshops. To meet this demand, the organisation expanded its team of facilitators across Australia to reach more children. In addition, Dolly's Dream funds many of its workshops in geographically isolated areas where schools may lack funding.

Dolly's Dream also offers a free Support Line for parents, carers, grandparents, and children who need assistance with bullying and associated mental health issues. There are wait times of up to 12 months for some country kids to see a counsellor, which is just too long to wait. Over the last year, Dolly's Dream has provided a free, 24/7 counselling service for anyone who needs it.

The programs and services provided by Dolly's Dream are made possible by the incredible generosity of local communities across Australia.
